A rare tree is making a comeback in Cooper Park

The Nielsen Park she-oak was down to 10 plants when it was discovered in 1986 — and it's been quietly recovering ever since, including in Cooper Park. Big news this month: it's naturally regenerated for the first time ever, after a planned burn. Worth knowing about something this rare growing basically in our backyard.
